Muhammad is the messenger of Allah’ in Arabic); in the margin, the names and titles of the four Rashidun caliphs, ‘[Abūbakr ṣiddīq / ʿUmar fārūq / ʿUthmān] ʿAffān / ʿAlī al-murtaḍā’ (‘Abubakr the truthful, ʿUmar the distinguisher [between right and wrong], ʿUthman son of ʿAffan, ʿAli the one with whom Allah is pleased’ in Arabic).
