Within a single border of dots, draped bust of Hormazd IV to right, wearing an elaborate mural crown with a frontal crescent surmounted by a korymbos in crescent; a crescent and a ribbon on each shoulder; behind head, ‘ʾp̄zwn’ = ‘abzōn’ (‘increase’ in Pahlavi); before head, ‘ʾwhlmzd’ = ‘Ohrmazd’ (‘Hormazd’ in Pahlavi); in the margin, three stars in crescents.
Reverse
Within a single border of dots, fire altar with ribbons, flanked by two attendants; above altar, star and crescent; to left, ‘HOMŠY’ = ‘panǰ’ (‘five’ in Pahlavi); to right, ‘WYHC’ (abbreviation for the name of the mint in Pahlavi).
