Shiʿa kalima within a cartouche, ‘lā ilāha illā Allāh Muḥammad rasūl Allāh ʿAlī walī Allāh’ (‘There is no deity but Allah. Muhammad is the messenger of Allah. ʿAli is the friend of Allah’ in Arabic); in the margin, the names of the twelve Shiʿa imams in Persian, mostly effaced or off flan: ‘ʿAli, Hasan, Hosayn, ʿAli, Mohammad, Jaʾfar, Musā, ʿAli, Mohammad, ʿAli, Hasan, Mohammad’.

Within a hexagon, ‘Shāh Ṭahmāsb zarb-e Shirāz fī 940’ (‘Shah Tahmasp.
